Maintenance Tech. II

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician II
EXEMPT/NONEXEMPT: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
SCOPE: This position requires a developed trade of expertise in machine maintenance and production equipment repairs. Installs, maintains and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, mechanical and electrical systems on all production equipment and can work independently in the performance of standard maintenance and repairs.
SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of programming of PLC and CNC controls.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree in Machining or Certificate in Industrial, 5 years of Industrial experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending upon the facility and/or department within the company.

  • Daily, receives assigned work order to complete on equipment.
  • Upon completion of work, enters appropriate information onto worksheet for submission and filling into MRP and CMMS system.
  • Performs scheduled PMs and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • May be required to order requisition parts as needed.
  • Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected. May discuss machine operation variations with Production Manager or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the machine.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Perform machine installations/ moves and building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Ensures that a high level of safety is always adhered to on an off the production floor.
  • All duties covered under Maintenance Technician level I.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Operations Manager.

Applications Engineer

SCOPE: This position requires technical and interpersonal skills to provide customer support and interdepartmental technical support. Position involves design, project management, and technical problem solving.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Computer literate including modeling (e.g. Inventor) as well Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Technical ability including design, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Verbal and written communication including technical writing and presentations
  • Project management for in house projects as well as customer orders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • BS in Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university
  • > 3.0 GPA

PREFERRED 

  • MS in Engineering discipline
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer support including quote / spec review, warranty evaluations, failure analyses, and technical support
  • Interdepartmental support including troubleshooting production problems and technical support to all areas of the business
  • Product design including assistance with new product initiatives, modifications to existing products, and Engineering Change Request evaluation and processing

SCOPE

The Product Development Engineer is a key person in Amarillo Gear Company’s engineering department who carries out product development initiatives set by management. This engineer has responsibilities in all parts of the design, prototype, and production release cycle.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Excellent technical skills and ability to thoroughly and accurately represent design work through technical writing and project presentations/design reviews. Ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the engineering department to execute project goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • BS in Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university
  • > 3.0 GPA

PREFERRED

  • MS in Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of product development experience
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with project scope definition
  • Design execution through proof of concept testing, 3D modeling, and analysis
  • Design evaluation through analysis of component stress levels, fatigue analysis, bearing ratings, thermal rating, verification with established industry standards, as well as costing analysis
  • Design validation through prototype testing, both in house and in the field
  • Provide input on production drawing and specification generation and checking
  • Coordination of hand-off to production for final release and continual support as needed
